Why you might need a new boiler in your home or business

Considering a new boiler in Halifax West Yorkshire? Here’s why you might want to upgrade

With winter over for another year you probably won’t be using your boiler as much over the next few months and so you’ll probably put it to the back of your mind. However, now is the best time to decide whether or not you need a new boiler, because most heating engineers are less busy now that the cold period is over, and you’ll be able to organise work at your convenience. Don’t wait until next winter to discover you need a new boiler. JMCD Plumbing and Heating Engineers installs new boilers in Halifax and the surrounding West Yorkshire area.

Why get a new boiler?

To increase efficiency and save money - As much as half of your energy bills are down to heating your home, so improving the efficiency of your boiler could have a big impact on your monthly outgoings. According to the Energy Saving Trust you could save up to £310 per year by upgrading to a new boiler, however this figure is based on upgrading from the oldest, least-efficient boiler to a new one. The amount you’ll save is therefore probably not quite as high but could still be significant. An inspection from a heating engineer can give you a better idea of how much a new boiler could save you.

To create space in your home

Modern boilers are generally smaller than old ones, especially if you switch from a conventional boiler to a sealed system or a combi boiler, as you won’t require a water tank in the loft. (Although the type of boiler will depend on the size of your home). This can be useful if you wish to convert a loft into a useable space. Modern boilers also have the benefit of being quieter, which may be a consideration if you’re current boiler is invasive.

To increase control

New boilers give you a much greater amount of control, allowing you to be more precise in when heating and hot water are supplied. This can help you cut down on wasted energy and wasted money. Boiler programmers and thermostats can now be combined with smart heating controls to allow you control your boiler even when you’re not at home.

When it’s too costly to maintain your old boiler

Upgrading to a new boiler can seem like a costly but if you’re old boiler is proving costly to maintain then taking the plunge and upgrading is highly likely to save you money in the long run. A chat with your heating engineer will give you a better idea of the best course of action.
